Social Listening: Red Bull "Wiiings" of Social Media

   The company/brand that I had selected to do my "Social Listening in Marketing" post on Red Bull. As you may, or may not, know Red Bull is a brand of energy drink. I would even say it is the most popular energy drink in the market. In support of my claim, an article on the website Caffeine Informer , written by editor James Foster in which details how the Red Bull drink had the most sales (around $3,259,914,735) for an energy drink, in 2022. This had piqued my interest as, personally, I had rarely needed or drunk caffeinated drinks. Though this may be subject to change in the future, as I have noticed that I have subsequently drunk more and more caffeinated drinks as I have gotten older. However in my personal opinion I can’t discern the difference between each energy drink. Marketing in the News: Chex Mix ft. Sir Mix-A-Lot "Bagel is Back"

           For this week’s “Marketing in the News” blog post I had chosen a Chex Mix advertising campaign for the revival of their bagel chips. Now, personally, I am a fanatic for food and snacks. So when I saw this specific advertisement a week ago I was a little intrigued. The main component to my intrigue with Chex Mix’s advertisement was the song in which they remixed and incorporated in the commercial.                   Delving deeper, the article that I had chosen was written by a reporter for the site “Marketing Dive”, Chris Kelly. The article entails a brief summary and insight of Chex’s marketing strategy for this specific advertisement. As Chex Mix has decided to incorporate and remix Sir Mix-A-Lot’s 1992 notorious hit song “Baby Got Back”, with him in it. After 30 years after its release, Sir Mix-A-Lot and Chex Mix reworded certain aspects of his song “Baby Got Back” into “Bagel Is Back”.  Hello Everyone,     My name is Keenen Torii, and I am a student at Oregon State University (OSU) while also being dually enrolled at Linn Benton Community College (LBCC). I am currently trying to pursue a degree in Finance. I had chosen to enroll in BA 223 (Principles in Marketing) as it is part of my core requirements for my degree. Though I do have an interest in marketing, seeing the significance of learning these skills to be successful in my future career/endeavors. Specifically, the ways that exemplify the importance of marketing is that it encapsulates everything and is everywhere in our modern world/loves (via phone, computer, etc.).
